Check your files against your whole archive. Anywhere.
Arkeep remembers every file on every drive, so you can check a card from your Mac or your iPhone without plugging a single archive drive in. Then it copies only what’s missing and proves every copy.
Mac and iPhone first. Windows later.

Coming at launch. Follow along on Instagram until then.
Checks every card against every drive you own, even the ones on the shelf.

Copies what’s missing to several drives at once, and reads every copy back to check it.
Most tools copy your card and stop there. Arkeep reads every file back to prove it made it. That can take as long as the copy, and it’s what lets you format the card without worrying.
Splits a busy day into jobs, with a folder for each.
Checks a card on your iPhone, on set or at the venue, before you wipe it.
Card reader sold separately. Works with any USB-C card reader.
Coming at launch
Never deletes, moves or changes a single file on your cards and drives.
Tested before launch on 1.3 million real files across 8 archive drives.

Questions
Who is Arkeep for?
Anyone with a drawer of drives: photographers and filmmakers, musicians, podcasters, media teams and production houses, families with years of photos, and anyone who keeps copies of their work. If you have a shelf of drives and aren’t sure what’s on which, Arkeep is for you. It checks memory cards, USB drives and recorders. Read more in the guide ›
How do I set up my archive drives?
Plug in the drives where your finished backups live and tick them as archive drives during setup. Arkeep indexes them one at a time, and you can check cards against each drive as soon as it’s done. You can add more drives whenever you plug them in. Read more in the guide ›
Can I try it before I buy?
Buy it and use it on your real drives and cards. If it isn’t right for you, you can get a full refund within 14 days, no questions asked. Read more in the guide › Refund Policy ›
How does Arkeep know a file is already backed up?
It matches each file on the card by name, size, capture date and a fingerprint of its contents against the index of your archive drives, so a renamed folder or a reused file name doesn’t fool it. Read more in the guide ›
What is fingerprinting?
A fingerprint is a short code Arkeep calculates from a small piece at the start and end of each file. Two different files almost never share one, so it can tell apart files your camera named the same. It never changes your files. Read more in the guide ›
What does “matched without fingerprint” mean?
Fingerprinting a big archive runs in the background and can take hours. Until a file has its fingerprint, Arkeep matches it on name, size and capture date, and says so in the report. The note goes away once the fingerprint pass finishes. Read more in the guide ›
Does Arkeep keep a copy of my files?
No. Arkeep checks your backups and copies files onto your own drives, then verifies every copy. It never keeps its own copy of anything. Read more in the guide ›
What happens if a drive dies?
Arkeep remembers what was on every drive it has indexed. Mark the drive as failed and the Loss Report shows what was only on that drive and what is still safe on another one. It tells you what was lost; it can’t recover files. Read more in the guide ›
Does Arkeep work with a NAS?
Not at launch. Arkeep checks drives you plug into your Mac: USB, Thunderbolt and card readers. Network drives and NAS aren’t checked yet. If you work off a NAS, join the waitlist and tell us, so we know how many people need it. Read more in the guide ›
How does the iPhone app pair?
The iPhone app is coming at launch. You’ll open Settings › Mobile on your Mac and scan the QR code with the app. No account and no typing. It will be included with every license and won’t use one of your computer slots. Read more in the guide ›
Can I use it on my laptop and my desktop?
Yes. A Personal license covers 2 computers plus your phone. Read more in the guide ›
How do I move my license to a new Mac?
Remove the old Mac in Settings › License, or from your account page if the old Mac is lost, then activate Arkeep on the new one with the same key. Read more in the guide ›
Do creator codes give a discount?
Not during the founders launch. The founders price is already the best price, so a creator’s link or code just tells us who sent you, and they get the credit. After the first 100 founders spots are gone, a creator’s code takes 10% off. Read more in the guide ›
Is this a subscription?
No. You buy it once and get a year of updates. After that, more updates are optional. If you don’t renew, Arkeep keeps working on the last version you received. Read more in the guide ›
When is Windows coming?
Arkeep launches on Mac with the iPhone app. Windows and Android come later, together. Join the waitlist to hear first. Mac founders get the Windows version free when it arrives. Read more in the guide ›
What if it isn’t for me?
You can get a full refund within 14 days of buying it, no questions asked. Email [email protected]. Read more in the guide › Refund Policy ›
Does it upload my files anywhere?
No. Your index and history stay on your Mac. Arkeep only sends your license key, a random device ID and the device’s name to the license server. Read more in the guide ›
What do you keep about me?
Your license key, the email you bought with, the names of the devices you activated and your order records. Payment details stay with Stripe, which runs checkout. Read more in the guide › Privacy Policy ›
