Features

For anyone with a drawer of drives.

Cards from a shoot, a recorder from a session, a USB drive from last week’s event. Arkeep remembers what’s on every drive you own, checks anything you plug in against all of them, and copies what’s missing.

Photographers and filmmakers

Offload a wedding’s cards to two drives and know every frame is there before you format a single one.

Musicians

Takes and stems spread over years of drives and recorders. See which sessions are already archived, and where.

Podcasters

Plug in the recorder after an episode. Arkeep says which tracks are new and copies them to your backup drives.

Media teams

Production houses, in-house brand teams, schools and volunteer crews. The mixer or camera records to a USB drive or card, and anyone on the team can plug it into the office Mac and see what isn’t saved yet.

Built for people with a shelf of drives.

Your whole archive

Arkeep remembers every drive, even when it’s unplugged.

Five archive drive tiles, three connected and two offline, each with its file count, how full it is and when it was last seen.

Drive Memory

If a drive dies, you’ll know exactly what was on it.

Seconds after you plug in

See exactly what’s missing from a card, a USB drive or a recorder. Copy it to every drive you pick in one click, and every copy is checked.

A card result: FX3 Card, 6 not backed up, with Copy What’s Missing ready to copy 6 files to Archive A and Archive B.

Private by design

Your archive never leaves your devices.

Live copy speed

See what’s slowing a copy down.

Arkeep shows the live speed of your card or drive and every backup drive while it copies. If it’s crawling, you can see whether it’s a slow card, an old reader or a busy hub, instead of guessing.

Arkeep’s copy screen: Card 535 MB/s read, Drives 779 MB/s write, and “The card or card reader is the slower part right now.”

Search and Drive Memory

Find any project, on any drive, plugged in or not.

Search a client, a session, an event date or a file name and see every copy, inside its drive and folders. Drives on the shelf still show their folders and saved thumbnails, so you know which one to plug in.

Search for “first dance”: six files found on Archive A and Archive B, with a preview of the selected photo. Archive D, which is not plugged in, showing its folders from the last index and a saved thumbnail of a photo.

Coming at launch Included with every license

New in Release 3.2.

Drive health labels

Each drive gets a label: Healthy, Watch or At risk. Arkeep watches for warning signs. No tool can catch every failure. A Healthy drive still needs a second copy. If a USB enclosure doesn’t pass health data through, Arkeep says “Health data not available from this enclosure.”

Your own drive colors

Give each drive a color, Teal, Blue, Indigo, Purple, Pink, Orange, Green or Graphite, so the one on your desk matches the one on your screen.

Quick copy from the menu bar

Plug in a card and start copying what’s missing from the menu bar, without opening the full window.

Search with every drive unplugged

Search your whole archive with every drive on the shelf. Each result says where it lives, like “on 2 drives”. On your iPhone too: search any job, client or file, even with your drives at home.

Safe to delete in the camera or recorder

On your iPhone, a list of what’s already backed up. Delete these in the camera or recorder (Format or Delete), not on a computer, so its card index stays correct.

A failed drive’s story

When a drive dies, Drive Memory shows what was on it, what’s safe on another drive, and what was only there.
